Neuroscience with neurorobots for kids
Neuro Ninjas!
Tom is bored in class and makes a paper airplane… Should he throw it? Will he? What’s happening inside Tom’s brain?
At Neuro Ninjas we use a cutting-edge brain-based robot prototype (SpikerBot by Backyard Brains) that allows our kids to work on a connected iPad or computer to create and edit its brain and make it display behaviors similar to ours.
We learn about how fear, wanting and self-control work together when you make decisions. We make neurons with colorful foam, and brains models with clay and resin to bring home. We play games and solve connectomics challenges designing functional neural circuits, while developing abstract thinking and analytical skills.
This is a hands-on unique opportunity for your child to get a mechanistic understanding of how their own brain works, and why it is sometimes hard to make a “good” choice.Â
Get to know your own brain and become a Neuro Ninja!Â
